that saved us from killing ourselves
humanity entire

especially you  (brave ally)

and me

Ocean City N.J. 28th St. beach - summer 1944 - age

Part III:  Break-Up

Peyto Lake

233.  the first part of the Peyto Lake material

234.  how Dr. Lorenzo from a maturer vantage point years later looked back on healing aspects of his unusual trip

235.  ’buying in’ to the treatment plan was critical, said the Dr.

236.  he repudiated (or ‘clarified’, as some preferred) a few critical words in his Peyto Lake writing

237.  Dr. Lorenzo’s comments during a healing workshop at Ghost Ranch

238.  insertion into nature’s matrix meant sticking with the treatment plan

239.  more on the subject of respecting nature

240.  young Dr. mj ’stuck’ with Dlune as part of his Remaking cure therefore

241.  and suddenly in the early 70s a coterie of early Remaking pundits declared mj lorenzo a ‘culture hero’

242.  explanation of the term ‘culture hero’

243.  mj lorenzo certainly met criteria for culture hero in at least one way claimed pundits of that school

244.  meanwhile there was a ‘mainstream’ interpretation of Peyto Lake

245.  but the famous culture-hero-pundit reaction to Peyto Lake seemed – to almost everyone -- far more penetrating, comprehensive and unified

246.  an aspect of mj’s ‘culture hero role’, however, perplexed and worried his followers

247.  the second part of the Peyto Lake material

248.  how culture hero pundits rebutted popular sexual interpretations of the ‘sixth attempt’

249.  how punditry schools compared and contrasted their hero with Christ

250.  how pundits of ‘culture hero’ persuasion won most annual awards including one for their Peyto Lake interpretation

251.  how culture hero pundits were accused of a ‘puritanical streak’

252.  how they proceeded to arouse even more ire

253.  how devoted culture hero followers lashed back at the Buddhist Backlash school of Remaking punditry

254.  and how New York’s New School for Social Research finally did social research on Remaking pundits with a shocking outcome

Loud Slap’s route to a new life

255.  a favorite tribal tale of Dr. Lorenzo’s

256.  how the Dr. used the tale of 'Loud Slap' in later years

257.  and an assessment of the kind of lore needed for saving humanity from self-annihilation according to Dr. Lorenzo:  an easily shared guide to the future for the whole human tribe

Lake O’Hara

I.  Everybody's complaints

258.  the Lorenzos sighed with relief finally and with good reason this time

259.  but Rev Lorenzo still called his son’s writing banana split sophistry and Jo thought it silly shenanigans; and not even Remaking pundits who adored their mj to highest heaven ever endorsed the author’s claim that The Remaking’s literary style was that of ‘sacred text’

260.  why pundits could not see The Remaking as sacred text (in the Dr.’s respectful opinion)

261.  Dr. Lorenzo’s reflections on the sacredness of nature

262.  how the Dr., years later, defined his term sacred nature within a brief multi-point sacred philosophy for sacred humanity

263.  and how, meanwhile, back in 1971 when they received the Lake O’Hara material the Lorenzos understood their son’s twist on the term Thunder Medicine a little too well

264.  how the Dr. years later got carried away while discussing his parents’ and other neo-Calvinists’ discomfort with their own and other people’s so-called ‘vices’

265.  how Dr. Lorenzo execrated (on occasion) the reforming hero Calvin but praised the man for his mercy shown during the fiery executions he himself ordered

II.  Everybody's ecstasies

266.  despite many misgivings of several kinds about their son however Rev and Jo Lorenzo adored his passages glorifying nature

267.  Jo was ecstatic with her son’s description of Canadian Rockies scenery

268.  but after 18 months in hiding mj lorenzo still never returned home; and Rev, suffering one day a (quite pagan) holiday vision of his son, finally felt compelled to publish The Remaking as a way to find him

269.  AND THAT WAS WHEN mj lorenzo finally came home to Mommy and Daddy at last

270.  the opening paragraphs of Lake O’Hara

271.  Jo Lorenzo’s favorite part of The Remaking

III.  Dlune's grunt work

272.  Dlune’s trek to find her dreamer and get him down from the mountain

IVmj's dreams

273.  mj’s dreams and visions from the south face of the peak named Hungabee

274.  comments on Part III of the two-brothers tale ELTCHELEKWIE ONNIE

275.  Dr. Lorenzo’s tender thoughts on the last part of Eltchelekwie Onnie

276.  the end of Eltchelekwie Onnie and of The Remaking

VRev Lorenzo's favorite part of The Remaking

277.  Rev Lorenzo’s favorite part of The Remaking

the rest of the story

I.  The rest of the story on:  Lake O’Hara

278.  how mj had longed to be at Lake O’Hara even before the Crack-Up

279.  how a climb from the lake to Hungabee was the right ending for a healing Remaking trip and book

280.  how such an ending was thought by high schoolers not dazzling enough and by others too dazzling to be true and how all felt the climax of the Remaking should have been designed better to please their taste

281.  how the solstice ordeal was seen by mainstream pundits as an object lesson in Mortimer-Jack conflict dynamics

II.  The rest of the story on:  the culture hero pundits

282.  how Lake O’Hara was seen by culture hero pundits on the other hand as a call to them from their hero mj to help him with his ’mission’

283.  how their interpretation of Lake O’Hara made the culture hero people dig up their hero finally in early 1980 and tell him in effect you are our culture hero and we have come to help you

284.  how mj said “If I’m a culture hero it’s news to me” and how the culture hero pundits then tried to see mj lorenzo as an anti-hero and failed

285.  how ‘freshmen’ pundits tried to get to the bottom of the tension between mj lorenzo and the older, more experienced ‘culture hero’ pundits

286.  how the Remaking pundit old-timers laid out for newcomer pundits exactly in what way their (old-timer) lives had been remade

287.  how freshmen pundits felt silenced

288.  how culture hero pundits formed an organization named El Wammy worried that not enough was being done to help their hero’s ‘mission’

289.  how Dr. Lorenzo recognized the accomplishments of the culture hero crew

III.  The rest of the story on:  mj lorenzo as of the present writing

290.  how pundits measured mj lorenzo’s impact on the human enterprise as of 2007

a rightful prologue:  the laugh and a half conferences

291.  how The Remaking was conceived and begotten of such psychic healing power and then matured to produce so much more psychic healing power that the author could draw on that power for the rest of his life

292.  the origin of the Lorenzo family name

293.  the question that never had to be asked

294.  mj lorenzo’s ‘pre-birth’ and the laugh and a half conferences

295.  the facts of the case of the author’s forgetfulness as gleaned from the Dr. and from Sammy Martinez

296.  how a tiny extremist pundit group proposed a bizarre explanation for the author’s forgetfulness

297.  could mj lorenzo have been wanting The Remaking and all of its pundits to fade into oblivion? some pundits worried

298.  how each and every conference to help the author solve his problem of forgetfulness kicked off with a punditry-provoking tale about a day at the beach

299.  and the tale went like this: one day sitting alone at the beach all day without his monstrosity of a brainchild actually in hand to look at, young Dr. mj could not remember as hard as he tried why he had created it

300.  maybe the author forgot what his monstrosity was about because it was about so/too many things at once

301.  maybe The Remaking was forgettable because nothing of worth was in that crazy book

302.  maybe young Dr. mj should have published The Remaking as first written unless of course it was just written for psychotics by a psychotic

303.  maybe The Remaking was nothing but a waste of precious time

304.  but an emptying late afternoon beach triggered the young Dr.’s non-Christian (if not exactly pagan) lifelong memories of the Jersey summer shore with family

305.  and so mj had himself a laugh and a half

306.  and then he called Sammy for help, who wholeheartedly agreed with the author that he must resist the serious pull of The Remaking’s immensely powerful gravity by always and constantly perceiving himself as a kind of sacred-nature healing clown performing the supercharged balancing dance of a mercurially uncertain and improbable electron at about half the speed of light around the nucleus of a great dense and weighty matter or in other words lighten up!

307.  how Sammy offered to help poor forgetful ol’ Dr. Lorenzo with his first and second revisions of The Remaking but did most of the work in the end

308.  how pundits judged in retrospect the real purpose of the conferences

309.  and finally:  Dr. Lorenzo’s concluding jokes at the laugh and a half conferences and his freaking fantastic f**t of a final fine allez and final finale FINALLY

appendixes

310.  New York literary agent ‘cannot find a publisher’ for the present work

311.  Sammy’s written reply outlining and summarizing the potential value of The Remaking as being: literary AND artistic; political; psychological and self-healing; culture-healing; culture-transforming and culture-saving; and of geopolitical importance therefore; humanity-healing and world-healing; and likely to create its own infinitely expanding purchasing audience for all of these reasons; so worth billions of dollars a year in perpetuity, like the Bible and Homer

312.  response of New York literary agent

313.  Dr. Lorenzo’s letter to a bewildered New York literary agent outlining the (perhaps too subtly hidden until now) many and orderly, detailed self-remaking steps embedded sequentially in The Remaking; and tacking on his famous ‘desperate appeal’
