This work, a look at mj lorenzo’s The Remaking, is a thorough study of a 1971 underground sensation, a well-known unpublished 1970-71 manuscript by mj lorenzo. His creation was a monster of verbal self-expression, colorfully costumed up to the monster eyeballs with enlightening visual art. Maybe that is why mj never took his monster to a publisher though he had told himself he would. Yet it – along with its dozens of illustrations – escaped his clutches in late ’71, hit the street like Mexican fireworks, and became known at once, affectionately and otherwise, as:
